hi David, I've decided to give this board another try just for the hell of it (slow night I guess?). Feeling lukewarm about it so just testing the water. What have I missed? are you geeked about the new touring season? NYC RCH and Hollywood Bowl booked so far for me....
Some of the music today is fantastic, and though I'm normally the eldest at the shows, I don't notice it. The Kazimier and Leaf are 2 good venues in Liverpool that put on good shows. You should visit! Anyway have a good day. All the best, Take care Dave
My favourite is No work for the Working man. It will be good to see them. You seem to have had a similar awakening to me. I used to spend drunken evenings with a friend reminiscing about songwriters from the 60's and 70's and complaining about the lack of good music around nowadays. Realised it was a load of rubbish we were talking, so I got off my backside and made an effort.
Went to Manchester ( ugggh again)to see him at The Deaf Institute and myself and friend (another Dave) loved the format with David, Jarrod and Emily. It worked so well Really enjoyed Jarrod's songs and my mate Dave used his song 'Come what May' at his subsequent wedding. His wife Kim asked him. thanked him and will personally thank him again on Wednesday.
I know I've told you I 'm also going to a house concert in York on Wednesday to see David Ford and Jarrod Dickenson. I first saw David at the Moxafrica fundraiser ( I came to see David Gray) and loved his words, music and persona. Would love him to sing with just a guitar or piano and not continuous looping and I'm hoping I'll get this on Wednesday night.
Hi Dave, I'm off to see The Head and the Heart tonight and really looking forward to it. The forum and your comments here made me check them out. Thanks I'm no good at reviewing or compiling setlists ( I enjoy the vibe and music) but will let you know what I think of the show.
for me these days I still don't really know what i am doing........i sense a higher calling but am unclear what that is - so for now am sticking with eclectic patron and simply expanding my rolodex or what I have dubbed the snelly label :)
I do feel sorry for those that are so singularly focused on one artist - or those that do cling so deadfast to the past they don't have the eyes to see new young talent coming up.......anyway to each their own let me know how it goes...........thanks for reaching out!! david
